Compared to the large commercially brewed American beers, craft beers place the emphasis more on unique flavor rather than relying on mass-market appeal. Inspiration for many of these beers comes from the British, German, or Belgian brewing tradition but is often uniquely American.
Craft beers will range from golden light lagers to silky black stouts and from mild to strong in alcohol content. American craft brewers are responsible for the increased wide variety of beer styles available at your local stores.
